Who is affected? | This is a worm that uses Microsoft Outlook to spread on Windows 95, 98 and NT
Non-Outlook users can be infected also, but cannot spread the worm. |
What does it do? | Overwrites the user's files on any drives (including network drives).
Affects the following file formats:
The worm creates a file of 0 length and renames it the same as existing files.

How is it spread? | Through an e-mail attachment using Microsoft Outlook only. |
What to look for: | The following text in the body of the message:
"Hi, I received your e-mail and I shall send
you a reply ASAP. Till then, take a look at the attached zipped docs." An attachment named "zipped_files.exe" that looks like a WinZip archive file. |

*As of 11/30/99 the virus has a slight variation. The virus is compressed which prevents previous virus scanners from detecting it. A new patch is needed to detect this virus. |
